Pending claim diagnostic pointing

Diagnostic pointing is important to do when the first claim is created for a patient. Subsequent claims for that patient will automatically save the diagnostic pointing from the previous claim.  Therefore making diagnostic pointing part of you new patient claim creation process is an essential process as it will save you time on subsequent patient visits.  

To accomplish diagnostic pointing on a claim already in the Pending Claims folder go to Main menu > Billing > Pending Claims > Select the edit button for the claim that requires diagnostic pointing.

Go to the bottom of the claim and select the procedure requiring diagnostic pointing (note in the example below it says N/A under the diagnosis codes).  Click the "Edit" button for the charge you want to add diagnosis codes to.  

Add Diagnostic Pointing to each procedure and save both the procedure information and the claim. Repeat until all procedures have Diagnostic Pointing:
