What to Do If Red Claims Are Accumulating

ChiroSpring places a color code on every claim. The red color code is specifically used to identify claims that have been sent into a clearinghouse but somehow where lost or never responded to by the payer. We call these "Black hole" claims.

If your clinic has not chosen billing services, clearinghouse services or has chosen full billing services but turned off "Claim Calling" you can handle this issue on your own. Simply run an Aging Report and select to find red claims. Start calling and take appropriate action to remedy the blackhole claim.

With some clinics the number of blackhole claims can account for 8% of all your clinics claims. Most clinics are not very good at consistently looking for, calling on and taking action to fix black hole claims.
