Gratuity/Tips

To take a Gratuity/Tip and apply it to a specific Provider, we recommend the use of "Products":

Create "Gratuity" Product

You will first need to add "Gratuity" or "Tips" to your products list in ChiroSpring

Go to Billing - Products (not product folder)

Click on the Blue "Action" Button on the lower right side of the page

Click "Add Product" as shown below:

A pop up will appear where you can add the following details:

Product Name

Description

Retail- type in 0.00 *You must type in 0.00 in the Retail price field or it will not let you save.

Do not add anything for Cost.

Click on the "Apply Tax" switch to turn off taxes

Click SAVE.

Now you can make a product sale for the Gratuity and adjust the gratuity amount as needed!

To Charge for Gratuity

You can add the "Gratuity" product during checkout at the cash register, or directly from the patient menu.


From Patient Menu


From the Patient Menu, select "Add Product" (see above image).


Next search for "Gratuity" at the top. Then edit the price as shown below. In this example we have edited the price to $5.00.



  • Enter Date of Service
  • Seller: *This is where you select name of the Provider receiving the Gratuity/Tips
  • Type in any comments if needed

Mark the Appropriate Payment information on the left side. *If payment was collected prior to making product sale, check "No New Payment"

Fill any other information as necessary

Click SAVE.



*Make sure to select the earning provider as the "seller" as shown above to make sure tips are logged accurately and reflect on the correct providers earnings.


To take a Gratuity/Tip and apply it to a specific Provider using Fee Slip or Add a Claim:

Adding to Fee Slip

You can add a Tip when making your fee slip

Under Procedures: Click on Billing Groups

Select Miscellaneous Services

Under Search Procedure type: TIP ( type in all CAPS)

Select TIP

Ensure the TIP is changed to No Insurance Bill

You will need to Point Diagnosis. It does not matter which one you point.

Under Summary, you will want to change the amount of the TIP

Save

In the Claim history it will look like this:

Ensure to go into the Pending claim folder and Complete the Claim for the Tip to remove it out of pending.



Patient Menu - Add Claim

Choose Blank Claim

Choose Non Insurance Claim

Enter Date of Service in Box 14

In Box 24; Add New Procedure

Type in Date of Service

Box D; Type in TIP ( all capital letters)

Select General Clinic Plan (even if charge Amount is $0.00)

In Box F; Type in Amount of Tip

In Box E Add Diagnosis; This can be anything, but a diagnosis must be entered (only 1 needed)

Select Earning Provider in Drop Down Menu

Click Add

This will take you back to the claim

In Box 33; Type in Provider who received the Gratuity/Tip

Using the Blue Action Button at the bottom right of the page, Save Claim

Go to the Pending folder and complete the claim.
