Using Households - Bundle Your Family

Households are a perfect way to manage your patients in a "together" fashion. Households centralize communication with families and also provide the ability to bulk schedule/check-in, streamline communication, share payment methods and more.

Features of Household

  1. Organize multiple families or groups of patients under separate households (e.g., blended families or patients with multiple caregivers).
  2. Easily add or remove members from households, accommodating changing family dynamics.
  3. Designate a Head of Household to simplify communication through a single point of contact.
  4. Send statements and appointment reminders to either the Head of Household or individual members, ensuring everyone stays informed.
  5. Add payments directly to member accounts and view total unapplied household payments.
  6. Schedule and Check-in your household at the same time.

Create Household

To get started with Household, navigate to your patient's Treatment Dashboard.

Click the "Start new household" icon.

Next, search in the box to add new patients to the household (note the patients must already be created in the system to search for them here). Below I am searching for "Julian".

Below you can see I have added three members to the household (including Brian who was the original patient who started the household).

Next, determine who the head of household is by clicking the check next to their name (there can only be one head of household).

From there, indicate the options for Appointment Reminders and Statements. Typically, you would only want appointment reminders or statements to go to the head of household.

Household Payments

To make a household payment, go to the patient's treatment dashboard. On the household section, click the payment icon.

When making a payment, you may select the "Who is paying" under payment information. Then, select the household members you want any of that payment to go to. As an example, Dad might make a $100 payment and you might want $50 to go to two of the children.

Next, indicate who is paying (left pane) and the payment method. On the right, enter the payment amount for each household member. In the example below I have entered $25.00 for both Brady and Julian which totals $50 for this cash payment.

Household Scheduling

With Household Scheduling you can easily book appointments for multiple patients within a household in one go.

Create Household Appointment: When creating an appointment, click the "Household" tab (image below). This allows for the addition of an entire household to book multiple appointments at once.

Individual Adjustments: Before saving the appointments, users can easily adjust the individuals included for that appointment. Only the patients retained in the list will have appointments created.

Scheduler Display: All household appointments will be displayed in the same row alongside the household name within the scheduler. Users can hover over the household name to see a list of all members scheduled for appointments.

Remove Appt: Users can remove individual appointments from household booking if needed.

(Only available on Front Desk) by clicking the red trash icon.

Household Payment Capability: Users will be able to process payments for the entire household directly from the scheduler and front desk. To do this, use the "Add Household Payment" icon (as shown below).

Checkout Screen: The front desk will have access to a checkout screen for each individual patient/member.

Visual Queue: To easily identify households, a house icon will appear next to the household name in both the scheduler and front desk views, providing a clear visual indicator of household appointments.

We plan to expand this functionality to online scheduling and patient app.
