Patient Tags

Patient Tags are new in April 2025! You can now tag patients with custom labels for better filtering, communication, and management.


You can add patient tag(s) from the Treatment or Billing Dashboard in patient account.


Once added, these tags will appear

  1. In Patient Search view from top bar of ChiroSpring
  2. As a column you can show and filter for in
    1. Activity Report
    2. Appointment Listing Report
    3. Patient Listing Report
  3. When you Create a New Appointment for a Patient


ChiroSpring is working to add these Tags to your Statements Queue. This would allow you to tag the patient statement preference, IE (print, sms, email, all) and then filter for and submit the way your patient prefers to pay! Stay tuned, ChiroSpring is continuously expanding what technology can do for your business.


ChiroSpring is also making a list of your created tags and ability to attach those quickly.

PRO TIP until then, you may have a notes function you use, I would keep a list of the tags you create until the system delivers that for you ;)


Use Case Examples for Tags

(Send ways you are using Tags to service@chirospring.com with subject "ways we use tags" to be added to the list!)

  • Pregnancy Tracking: Tag patients who are pregnant so your front desk can quickly see that at the time of scheduling. You can customize tags to include things like “Due July” or “Prenatal Only” — totally flexible for your practice needs.
  • Referral Source Tracking: Want to go deeper than just “Facebook”? Add a tag for the specific campaign (e.g., “FB - $29 New Patient Ad”) so you can track marketing performance more precisely. With Tags in the Patient Listing Report, you can even filter patients by the person who referred them using a custom tag.
  • Scheduling Preferences: “Prefers Tuesdays,” “Only Afternoons,” “Adjust w/ Dr. A,” — tag ‘em! When that patient calls, you’ll know how to schedule them without having to dig.

    Attorney or Referring Provider Tags: Add tags for specific attorneys or referral sources like “Attorney - Smith & Co.” so you can filter for all related patients. Then use GrowthHub Pro to bulk message that group via email or SMS — perfect for case updates or check-ins. Bonus: Save templates for repeat use!

    Waitlist Tags: Easily identify patients on your waitlist with tags like “Waitlist – Massage” or “Waitlist – Dr. B.” Great for filling cancellations fast.

    • PRO TIP: Save these report filters so you’re one click away from grabbing your go-to patient lists.
  • Collections Tracking: Tag patients in collections or with overdue balances (e.g., “Collections – 60 Days”) so your team can follow up appropriately or avoid scheduling until it’s resolved.
  • Treatment Program Enrollment: Tag patients by their program or care plan (e.g., “Wellness Plan,” “12-Visit Package”) to manage cohorts and track engagement more easily.
