1. What is Advanced Spine?
Advanced Spine is a customizable tool that allows providers to document spinal adjustments with speed, accuracy, and detail. It supports recording techniques, listings, attributes (e.g., pain, tenderness, asymmetry), areas to avoid, and notes.
2. How do I customize techniques in Advanced Spine?
- Go to Settings > Treatment Notes > Spine.
- Click the action button to add a new technique.
- Assign a name, color, and optional display settings (laterality, display name).
- Mark it as Active to make it available for use.
3. What do “Display Laterality” and “Display Name” mean?
- Display Laterality: Shows whether the adjustment was on the right or left side (e.g., “C7 Right”).
- Display Name: Displays the technique name in the output text (e.g., “Activator” was used).
4. How do I customize listings?
- Click Edit Listings in the Spine Settings.
- A dialog with the full spine and ribs appears.
- Add or rearrange listings for each spinal region using the + Add new listing button and handlebars.
5. What are attributes in Advanced Spine?
Attributes represent clinical findings (e.g., pain, tenderness, hypertonicity, ROM abnormality, swelling, spasm).
- Access via the Attributes tab.
- Add, edit, and rearrange attributes to customize your documentation.
6. How do I add Advanced Spine to my treatment notes?
- Navigate to Settings > Custom Templates > Template List.
- Select your template and click the pencil icon.
- Insert the Advanced Spine element into the template.
7. How do I document an adjustment with Advanced Spine?
Two options:
- Without Listings: Simply mark an area as adjusted by clicking the circle/check icon or selecting a segment and choosing Adjust.
- With Listings: Select a blank space, choose a technique, then select one or more listings from that technique.
8. How do I add attributes to an adjustment?
- Select a spinal segment.
- Open the Attributes tab.
- Choose one or multiple attributes (e.g., tenderness, ROM, swelling).
9. Can I apply listings or attributes to multiple segments at once?
Yes. Use the Multi-select Power Feature:
- Right-click multiple segments.
- Select Actions.
- Choose listings/attributes and click Apply to All.
10. How do I mark areas to avoid?
- Click the center of the spine.
- Choose Avoid.
- The section will be highlighted in red with a note to avoid.
11. Can I document ribs using Advanced Spine?
Yes.
- Switch to the Ribs tab (next to Spine).
- You can add adjustments or attributes to rib segments the same way as with the spine.
