Virtual Payments (Virtual Credit Cards)

The virtual payment is a special feature that is designed to charge virtual cards. This means that the credit card is charged, and the money enters in your practice's account, BUT the payment is registered into ChiroSpring for the patient(s) ONLY when the ERA/EOB gets posted.

- Add the virtual CC information to a patient file

You will be able to see the transaction into your Reports > ChiroSpring Pay > History, along with the comment and the details you have written in the comments section when adding the payment.

So after the ERA/EOB is posted, the payments will be added individually

Surcharging & Virtual Credit Cards (VCC)

If you are using surcharging you will want to opt to receive insurance payments via check or direct deposit. This is because you will not be able to enter the VCC payment (as it's money is capped) and a surcharge would apply.

  • You will not be able to enter these payments as a surcharge will be applied which will be more than what is on the card.
  • Insurance companies actually make money WHEN YOU USE credit card. They also save money in postage and check creation fees.
  • You do NOT need to accept VCC. Notify your insurance company to have your payment type changed to check or direct deposit.
